John 3:16

For God {the greatest good} so loved {the greatest action} the world {the greatest need} that he gave {the greatest example} his only begotten Son {the greatest sacrifice}, that whoever believes in him {the greatest invitation} shall not perish {the greatest horror} but have eternal life {the greatest gift}.

I've been meaning to tell you about...

Warning... long post! :)

Cozi Calendar:

Pk and I have been trying out this new thing. It's called "Cozi", their motto is "Family Life. Simplified". Their main service is a free family calendar and family lists. The best part about it is that you can edit everything from their website or from your iPhone app. Now, I admit our family is still pretty little, mainly because we haven't bought Ranger his own cell phone yet. However, it has made a huge difference in our communication, partly because I like to plan out our life and write it down in my planner, but never tell pk what the plan actually is. This way, we can both add things to the calendar and lists and both be able to see it at any time. I suggest it to anyone that's looking for something like this. Here's their website: http://www.cozi.com/live-simply.

Pk new job:

Pk has made a big change, career-wise lately. He left AAA in the middle of January. He is now going through training with The Rogers Group, to sell life&health insurance, as well as annuities. The main change will be that he'll be working from home mostly and it will be very similar to self-employment. So it will be a big change from what we were used to, but we're looking forward to what new blessings the Lord will bring us from this new opportunity!

Babies:

Unknowingly to us, we seem to have moved closer and closer to the 'baby stage' lately. Our dear friends, Emily & Hector just had a sweet baby boy last week. It's been such a joy getting to see him in the first few days of his life. Our nephew Jarvis, just turned 1 year old, as well!! What a huge blessing to have such wonderful extended family! And Sallie & Tyler's baby girl, Maggie, can already pull up on things to stand, wave and clap her hands, it's just adorable. She'll be having her 1 year birthday before we know it! We are thankful to learn so much from our family and friends surrounding us, who have babies. We are even babysitting Maggie this weekend, practice, practice, practice!

Connor- surgery:

A strange thing happened to the Q's recently. More than two years ago, my parents noticed a bump on Connor’s skull.  They had it x-rayed, and the neurologist was not concerned. We recently noticed that the bump had grown, and did more testing.  After MRI and CT scans, the neurosurgeon says the soft-tissue tumor has infiltrated the bone a little bit and needs to come off. The surgery occurred on Tuesday, January 18th at Dell Children’s Hospital. He took off the tumor, which he doesn't know if its a tumor or not. It could be some inflammatory thing. Since he isnt sure yet what is was, he didnt want to graft over it. So Connor now has some titanium mesh covering that area, which the skin will heal over. The pathology report will take 7 to 10 days. The doc  did not shave his head after all.  My mom and Connor spent one night in the hospital and were very happy to make it home after that. So now we're in the waiting game, waiting for the results of the pathology report to figure out what the next step is. Prayer here are always welcome. I'll be updating you more on this as we know more.

Chris:

Pk's brother, Chris is coming back to Texas at the end of this week! He's ending a 6 month stint on a cruise out of New Orleans. We look forward to spending time with him during these short breaks he gets between contracts. He have about 3 weeks off and start on the Carnival cruise, Splendor, on February 20th.

Trips we plan/hope to take in 2011:

 - Obviously countless trips to Austin to visit family!
 - Corpus Christi / McAllen, TX for Chelsea's wedding (Jackie's cousin) in March
 - Steph Lanter's wedding in Austin, in April (highschool friend)
 - Family Reunions in the summer
 - Roadtrip to Wagmore? (Parent's house in New Mexico) (Ranger hasn't been yet...)
 - Summer trip to ALASKA?! This is No. 1 on our list. We will make it happen! Our dear friends, Courtney & Chris Cooper live there!
 - Abroad?!? London will probably be our first abroad trip... Pk hasn't been abroad and I'm determined!! It can't get much better than site seeing, broadway plays and pubs! I'm not sure if this will happen in 2011... but I can dream. (On that note... PK hasn't been to NYC yet either, but if we had to choose, abroad wins)

Well I apologize for the time away from the blog and hopefully I've got you up a little bit with what our 2011 is going to look like! Cheers!

Adirondack Chair!

My husband is quite the crafstman! In the past he has made me bedside tables, kitchen tables, bookshelves... and his latest creation is this gorgeous adirondack chair! We haven't picked out a stain color yet, but here it is just finished in our garage.

I'm so proud! He enjoys spending time out in the garage tinkering with his tools and thinking up his next project.

What should he make next?
