So lucky to have family and friends who love me! There's just something about birthdays that gets me all excited! Not that I need the attention or gifts, although that doesn't hurt, it's about knowing something big happened a number of years ago. I mean even Ranger's birthdays are a big deal around here. I'm thankful the Lord has granted me so many years on earth! Here's to many more!

Per Your Request - House Photos!

You guys are pretty lucky that I'm showing photos of my house - it's still a wreck from the move. So please no judgments on the state of affairs! But happy to show it off - we feel totally at home here!

Kitchen. Gas stove top and gas oven... weird. And no, I didn't choose those white and green curtains, not my fave.

Main living area. Brown couch will be sold on craiglist soon and new couch should be delivered next week sometime!! JUST got cable installed today... yippee! You can see all the frames on the right that we haven't found a place for yet.

Bedroom.

This is probably the most hilarious picture. We're not sure if the futon is gonna stick around, may get pushed into the office. Not sure where the treadmill is gonna go... Have extra pieces of furniture and chairs and frames and lamps just laying around right now. This is the room that everything extra gets thrown into right now, hehe. And of course, Ranger looking at lights. Crazy mutt.

Lessons

Ah, Monday morning. You’re not welcome.
 
We are feeling a bit more settled in the house. Although we still don’t know where to find the lint roller, scissors, box tops, stamps or a lighter. But eventually we’ll find them in an unpacked box or mystery drawer. We are finally done painting, despite the minor blue paint on the carpet issue. We finally bought a new couch, that won’t arrive for another 2 weeks. I locked myself out of the house for the first time this weekend, while PK was in Austin, in my pajamas. Luckily, Ranger unlocked a window for me to get back in. We do have WIFI now, cable coming later this week. We have watched almost every single DVD that we own and every episode of the TV series that we own a few times at least. Got the locks changed and gave our friends a spare key. We’ve discovered that both of our neighbors mow their lawns every 2 weeks EXACLTY. So we’ve got to keep up with those overachievers. Finally figured out how to work the sprinkler system, but still arguing about what time is should go off and how often. Some of the plants in the front flower bed aren’t looking too good, guess I need to start caring and researching about plants!
 
We have had more than our fair share of first homeowners “lessons learned” scenarios for one week. Most importantly it feels like home! Have a great week!

This morning...

…when I woke up I had 25 emails. Mostly living social and groupon and the like flooding my inbox.
 
…my favorite part was opening the back door and letting Ranger and Sully run and jump on PK in bed and wake him up, hehehehe.
 
…I realized we only have two more nights in our rental house. Eeek!
 
…my husband made me a bagel and filled up my water bottle before I left for work. What a sweetie.
 
…I was pleasantly surprised that it was only 82 degrees outside. Cheers to a cloudy day.
 
…I paid for a latte at Starbucks in change. $4.28 is 17 quarters and 3 pennies.
